SEWING

I absolutely love this machine! Over the years, I’ve owned several sewing machines—my oldest was a Singer 770 that I truly sewed into the ground. It had a wind-in bobbin case, which I loved, and I was hoping to find something comparable again.

During Covid, when my portrait photography slowed down, I decided to treat myself to a new sewing machine. I spent days researching brands, watching YouTube reviews, and comparing options. Staying around the $1,000 price point was important to me, especially knowing there are good used machines out there—but I wanted something new and reliable.

That research led me to Juki, a brand known for quality, and I ultimately chose this model. It has exceeded my expectations in every way.

This machine is incredibly easy to use, comes with great accessories, and offers an impressive variety of stitches. I’ve actually used quite a few of them—especially the decorative stitches and lettering—and they add so much versatility. My favorite feature is the foot pedal setting that allows you to backstitch by pressing the front—it’s so convenient and intuitive.

Performance-wise, it’s outstanding. It handles thicker materials with no struggle at all, and compared to my older machines, it’s noticeably quieter, smoother, and faster.

With 287 stitches—including basic, stretch (great for knits like cotton spandex jersey), quilting, decorative options, and multiple buttonhole styles—you’re getting both quantity and a wide range of truly useful features.

Honestly, I haven’t found a single negative. This is a high-quality, feature-rich machine that I would absolutely recommend.
